Why is there a paper shortage?
As printers we rely heavily on the paper merchants for the speedy supply of paper when you place your print with us. Due to a number of forces, this supply chain has been put under immense pressure since the start of the pandemic; the result has been slow supply and frequent price increases. Prices of paper and board have not only risen exponentially but are also in short supply. This supply issue is global and out of our control – it is not unique to us.
This is how we have reacted.
As a business we have been taking positive steps since this supply shortage started to ensure that we can continue to operate in as close to ‘normal’ business conditions as we can. We are holding more stock than ever before and we constantly have paper and board on pre-order. Our aim as always is to be as reactive to your requirements as ever!
Working together to deliver on schedule.
For now, it’s all in the forward planning! The earlier we know about projects, the sooner Greg our Print Manager can speak with the paper suppliers and secure the relevant stock. Our advice is that as soon as you start discussing a project internally it's time to get in touch to discuss paper/board preferences, quantities and deadlines and create a schedule. This may include anything from securing stock early, to changing the paper or board choices in response to your time frame and/or budget.
